Holly’s Editorial Dance Photos
Holly has been such a wonderful young dancer to work with on creating a collection of editorial ballerina photo shoots for my portfolio. This is the latest offering for my brand, and is available in Chicago and globally. These special sessions begin with a collaboration session either in person, over the phone, through skype, or other similar session. Once we have a concept, we begin planning everything from hair, to makeup, to costuming.
Only the best photos from the session are chosen to go through the commercial retouching process. The overall goal is to create one of a kind images that really bring photography, dance, theatrics, costume, makeup and hair artistry together for a unified art form.
These sessions are available for commercial hire as well as for anyone looking to create something truly unique and special.
The first of two sessions highlighted in this post was a feminine version of Jack Frost. The beautiful costuming by Travis Halsey (Halsey On Stage) added a delicate and beautiful feel to Holly’s role as Jacqueline Frost. Holly’s dance mentor, Casey, was on scene for theatrical direction.
The second session featured was a test with smoke grenades for future sessions. Together with Holly, her mother, and an incredible hair and makeup team (listed below), we developed a more androgynous yet still feminine look.
