About Emmy Award® Winning Photographer, Amy Aiello
Hello, I’m Amy. I first want to thank you for your interest in working with me. After nearly 10 years of capturing portraits, weddings, and other special moments, I’ve found that it is truly an honor and a privilege to be entrusted with such a great responsibility.
I began my career in documentary film and broadcast journalism, and made a shift into wedding videography shortly after graduating from college. From there, I decided that my passion was truly still photography, even though I never had any formal training. I took a gamble, and put everything I had into learning and growing in photography since then, and opted to study privately with John Michael Cooper, Brooke Shaden, Aaron Nace, and Paul Audia. I have also attended several large scale photography workshops, including a especially notable one with Jerry Ghionis, as well as online classes taught by some of the top photographers in the world.
Starting in 2007, I worked simultaneously as the owner of my photography business, as well as a skycam videographer subcontracted for various Chicago news networks, including ABC, NBC, WGN and Fox News. My aerial video work has been broadcasted regionally, nationally and internationally. In June of 2014, I said goodbye to the sky to focus on what I am most passionate about: photographing people. In November of 2014, I was awarded with an Emmy for team coverage with WGN Chicago!
When it comes to still photography, though it may sound a bit vague, I specialize in photographing people. I have made it a professional goal to create the best possible images I can in any situation and with any sort of time frame for capturing. I have an extensive portfolio of weddings, engagements, newborns, children, families, musicians, live performances, models, actors, and fine art images. I strive for my clients and I to create images that capture who they are, in a style that makes the images look as though they belong in the pages of a magazine.
My work has been published in a variety of online and print publications, including Azure Magazine, CS Brides Magazine, The Knot Chicago Magazine, The Chicago Tribune, and many others.
In my limited leisure time, I study classical piano performance with my long-time teacher and acclaimed pianist, Alexander Djordjevic. I love staying active, wine tasting, and also love watching the Chicago Blackhawks, home improvement shows, and comedies. Most of all, I love meeting new people, and I LOVE to laugh.
Looking forward to meeting and working with you!
